It comes from wild Manuka from the North Island of New Zealand, which guarantees it a significant non-peroxidic activity index.

It comes from a New Zealand shrub, Leptospermum scoparium, which is a cousin of the famous Tea Tree, also renowned for its antibacterial properties.
