Digestive Enzymes, Probiotics & Plant Extracts<\/b><\/p>\n

During the process of digestion, our body produces some acids and enzymes, necessary for the breakdown of food, so that their nutrients are absorbed and used by the body. For each type of food, there are the corresponding enzymes that break it down. Proteolytic enzymes, to which Proteases belong, are responsible for the breakdown of proteins, Amylases for carbohydrates and Lipases for lipids. More specifically, Lactase breaks down lactose in dairy, Pectinase breaks down pectin in fruits and vegetables and Invertase breaks down sucrose (sugar). Bromelain from pineapple extract, belongs to the proteolytic enzymes and has anti-inflammatory properties, while Papain from papaya extract belongs to the same category, which can break down the hard fibers of meat.
