WELEDA Nursing Oil is a precious, absolutely pure natural product based on almond oil, from controlled biodynamic cultures, which helps to keep the skin in the breast area soft and supple. The original essential oils it contains from fennel, cumin and marjoram are traditionally used in childbirth as they are widely known for their use as lactogens (contribute to the production and flow of breast milk). The use of the oil, from the 38th week of pregnancy, on a daily basis and in combination with a gentle massage activates blood circulation in the tissues resulting in an increase in the temperature of the breasts. For a pleasant and harmonious breastfeeding for both you and your baby!
HORMONES AND THE MOTHER-CHILD BOND
Breastfeeding creates a strong bond between mother and child, although this benefit is often misunderstood. Many people think that simply breastfeeding makes the mother feel closer to her baby, but in reality this is only the beginning. The suckling movements of the baby at the breast cause the secretion of hormones in the mother’s body, which play a very important role in this emotional bonding.
These two hormones are oxytocin and prolactin. The first regulates the flow of milk and is associated with feelings of warmth and love. Oxytocin has been shown to stimulate affectionate behavior. Prolactin is the hormone responsible for milk production and induces feelings of calmness as well as helping the mother to relax.
